Plastic waste is one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues, and the Philippines is no exception. Eco-bricks, plastic bottles packed with non-biodegradable waste, offer a practical and sustainable way to manage plastic pollution. These bricks can be used to build structures, reducing plastic waste while creating functional community assets. The eco-bricks project in Aborlan was set up in 2022, and aims to educe plastic waste through clean-up drives and local partnerships, and build or repair community structures like fences, benches, or garden walls using eco bricks.
