In April, the Sea Turtle Conservation Project in Zanzibar focused on routine care and maintenance at the center. The team carried out regular cleaning of the sea turtle tanks, collected seaweed for feeding, and worked on beach and environmental clean-ups around the facility. These ongoing efforts ensure a healthy and safe habitat for the turtles under care.
A notable event during the month was a special visit from an engineer, who came to assess and provide cost estimates for upgrading the tanks for improved structure. The project is also actively working to establish new contacts to potentially bring in more turtles for rehabilitation in the near future.
