This month at the Turtle Project in Zanzibar was focused on consistent care and facility improvement, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the sea turtles. We carried out essential daily tasks such as cleaning the turtle tanks, washing the sea turtles, and collecting seaweed to support the turtles’ diet. Compound maintenance was also a regular part of the routine to keep the center clean and welcoming.
A special highlight was the arrival of one green turtle, to our center for care and rehabilitation. In addition, we took steps toward infrastructure upgrades by welcoming engineers to assess and quote tile installations for the tanks, aiming to improve hygiene and durability in our facilities.
