The sea turtle conservation efforts in Zanzibar are in full swing. The team recently uncovered 82 eggs during a field excavation in Makunduchi, with some viable for incubation that are now safely housed in an artificial hatching center. Meanwhile, we dove into daily routines like tank cleaning, seaweed planting, and local-style fishing, rotating roles for a fully immersive experience. The baby turtles haven’t arrived yet, but the next wave of conservationists surely has!
