Every seed planted is a promise and this August was an inspiring month for the mangrove conservation team in Palawan. We collected and planted over 7,000 mangrove propagules, covering more than 3,000 square metres of shoreline. While some weeks focused purely on collection, others included large-scale planting sessions that were often joined by local schoolchildren. The connection between ecosystem restoration and environmental awareness stayed strong all month.
Outside the mangroves, we taught lessons on microplastics, coral bleaching and ocean protection, created school posters and even helped out on local vegetable farms. From tomato harvesting to classroom slogans, the project bridged land and sea, showing how small actions in both places can create big environmental impact.
