Plastic waste might be one of the world’s toughest challenges, but in Palawan it’s also becoming part of the solution. We had a month of hands-on environmental action by carrying out coastal and street clean-ups, turning plastic waste into functional eco-bricks that support community projects. One highlight was the construction of a new span of eco-fence at the local daycare center, showing how waste can be transformed into protection for children’s spaces. The team also joined town-wide clean-up efforts, taught local leaders about the project’s impact and shared sustainable practices with government officials.
Standout Stats
- 171 eco-bricks made and 295 collected in September
- 1 eco-fence span built at the daycare center
- 1 town-wide coastal clean-up joined with the municipal tourism office
- Project presented to local councilors and department heads for scaling impact
