September was a busy month for the mangrove team in Aborlan. Each week we ventured into coastal areas to collect and plant thousands of propagules, strengthening vital ecosystems that shield communities from storms and erosion. Alongside fieldwork, we connected with schools and farms by teaching children about coral and mangrove ecosystems to lending hands in tomato gardens, mural painting and even performing at the town assembly.

Standout Stats

  • 8,086 mangrove propagules collected and planted across September
  • Over 4,000 sqm of degraded coastline restored
  • 4 school sessions on ecosystems, fish species and coral awareness
  • Community collaboration included mural painting, slogan campaigns and cultural events
