Dancing, Discipline & Khmer Culture Across Six Classrooms

Tucked away in the quiet Pul village of Samraong, Greenway School has been a symbol of hope, connection and opportunity since 2013. Born from the belief that all children deserve access to quality education, this community-led initiative has blossomed into a vibrant hub for free English learning. With more than 200 students aged 6 to 13 walking through its gates each year, the school runs alongside public schedules and offers structured, multi-level lessons that empower young learners to dream bigger.

Whether helping a child master their first English sentence or joining local festivals after class, those who step into Greenway leave with far more than they came for. It’s a project powered by passion and built on belonging – and it’s been changing lives for over ten years.

October brought energy and structure back to all six classrooms at Greenway School in Samraong. Each class maintained its own unique rhythm, but together they wove a shared tapestry of culture, learning and responsibility.

All of the classes started their days with warm-up activities before diving into structured sessions like Library Class, Movie Class and Dance Class. One group took the lead in environmental cleaning, while another focused on learning the Khmer traditional dance Rom Vorng, fostering cultural pride through movement. Some classes explored literacy in the library, while others brought their learning outside under the trees. Importantly, children returning from holiday also took part in cleaning and reorganizing their classrooms, taking ownership of their learning space.

Standout Stats

  • 102 students across 6 classes participated throughout October

  • 6 unique classroom groups, each contributing to the school’s activities

  • 1 special cultural highlight: students performed and practiced Rom Vorng, a traditional Khmer circle dance
