Rooted in Change: Mangrove Reforestation in Action

Thousands of new propagules were planted along coastal zones this month. Across four active weeks, we visited the mangrove sites multiple times weekly – working rain or shine! We collected and planted over 7,000 mangrove propagules across nearly 4,000 square meters of land. These reforestation efforts are essential not only for biodiversity and shoreline protection, but also for reinforcing local climate resilience.

Beyond planting, we nurtured a growing environmental awareness through creative and educational activities by planting string beans and sweet potatoes in community gardens. We also taught students about endangered species in Palawan and created environmental slogans and murals to inspire the next generation of eco-champions. This blend of conservation, education and creativity has sparked meaningful change, one seedling and one person at a time.
