Brick by Brick: Turning Trash into Change
October was a month of grassroots action in Tigman Village, where sustainability took center stage despite unpredictable weather. We dove into eco-conscious activities, including regular street cleanups, plastic segregation and the creation of eco-bricks. Even during rainy weeks, our efforts didn’t waver. Together, we crafted 19 new eco-bricks and collected 175 more from local households and community partners, reinforcing the message of collective environmental responsibility.
The month also saw hands-on involvement in community beautification. We built an eco-fence, visited a local vegetable farm to assist with watering and weeding and delivered environmental education sessions to local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. This allowed us to foster awareness about pollution and global warming among youth. Despite some disruptions due to weather, momentum remained high and the project continued to thrive through a combination of recycling, education and green construction.
