In April, the Mangrove Project in Palawan remained active with consistent efforts in both mangrove and vegetable farming. We visited the mangrove areas multiple times each week, collecting and planting a total of 2,455 mangrove propagules across 1,250 square meters of land. These activities contributed significantly to shoreline protection and marine biodiversity in the area.

In addition to mangrove restoration, the team also supported sustainable agriculture by working in a vegetable farm. They helped weed, water, and plant a variety of vegetables including bok choy, okra, and eggplant, and also applied organic fertilizer made from aged rice hulls. The month ended with a rewarding watermelon harvest, showcasing the project’s holistic approach to environmental sustainability.
