In March, the Tanzania Sea Turtle Conservation Project in Zanzibar focused on maintaining a healthy environment for sea turtles through regular tank cleaning, feeding, and habitat improvement.
The team also collaborated with local fishermen to learn traditional fishing techniques, ensuring a sustainable food source for the turtles. Additionally, they engaged in seaweed planting and coral reef exploration to support marine conservation. A significant moment this month was the release of a rehabilitated sea turtle back into the ocean, carefully placed in deeper waters to accommodate her three-finned condition.
